MovieBeam, Inc. is a leader in digital entertainment that is changing the way people rent movies. The MovieBeam movies-on-demand service provides instant access to an ever-changing lineup of New Releases and Popular Pics from virtually every major Hollywood studio – 100 movies are always available, with 10 new titles automatically delivered each week.

In the $10 billion U.S. movie rental market, 30 million households rent four or more movies per month – 85 percent of them new releases. MovieBeam serves this market “sweet spot” and provides an attractive alternative to other rental options, bringing the back wall of the video store directly into customers’ living rooms – with no out-of-stock titles, no damaged discs, no return late fees, and no waiting by the mailbox or for a file download. The MovieBeam System – consisting of a player, remote control and small indoor antenna – requires no professional installation, and there are no annual contracts or monthly subscription fees. Customers pay only for the movies they choose to rent.

MovieBeam offers unprecedented access to high-definition movies. Specially selected titles – approximately 10 percent of available movies – are delivered in native HD format. The player also features an HDMI connection that supports up-conversion from standard-definition content to high-definition output.

The MovieBeam service is currently available in 31 metropolitan areas across the U.S.: Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Buffalo, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Memphis, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Nashville, New York City, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Portland (Oregon), Salt Lake City, San Antonio, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle-Tacoma, St. Louis, Tampa and Washington D.C.

MovieBeam, Inc. is a privately held company backed by The Walt Disney Company, Cisco Systems, Intel Corporation, Mayfield Fund and Norwest Venture Partners. The company was formed in January 2006, after being incubated by The Walt Disney Company for nearly four years. Headquarters are in Burbank, California, with offices in Kent, Washington.
