ImageShack launched in November 2003 and was widely used in forums and communities around the web – in a many cases, users relied on it as their sole image-hosting solution. Since day one, it has provided convenient codes for users to put on forums, websites, and eBay auctions, amongst others – something it’s known for pioneering. With the arrival of MySpace in the following year, it saw more growth as users added photos and pictures to their profiles. But despite great success, ImageShack remains the second largest external photo host for MySpace, trailing competitor Photobucket, which launched in the same year. The company makes money from advertising on its homepage, but they haven’t released the most telling stats: how much money they’re making [www.mashable.com].
